Garden clearance in Ashtead

Overgrown, neglected or full of the last owner’s rubbish. We clear it and take it away.

We clear overgrown gardens across Ashtead and the surrounding villages. Brambles, ivy, self-seeded saplings, knee-high grass, old decking, rotten sheds and whatever has been left behind the shed for the last five years. Everything we cut goes on the van and leaves with us, because we are a registered waste carrier.

Most clearances we do fall into one of three sorts. A garden that has got away from someone over a wet summer. A house that has just changed hands and needs the previous owner’s garden dealt with before anything else can happen. Or a rented property that needs putting right between tenants.

We are based in Ashtead, so this is a short drive rather than a call-out. Whether you back onto Ashtead Common, sit off Barnett Wood Lane, or are up in Lower Ashtead near the station, we can usually come and look within a few days.

What a clearance includes

  • Brambles, nettles, ivy and undergrowth cut back and dug out where it needs to be
  • Overgrown shrubs and hedges cut back hard, or taken out completely
  • Long grass strimmed down and the ground levelled off
  • Borders cleared, dug over and left ready to replant
  • Old sheds, decking, fence panels and garden rubbish removed
  • Everything taken away and disposed of properly — we are a registered waste carrier
  • The paths, patio and drive swept before we leave

What customers said

Finch has done a great job clearing our flowerbeds for the summer. He worked really hard and well in the time he was here. He wasn't put off by the 4 seasons of weather we experienced while in our garden. He worked through it all! Would highly recommend.

Simone Kettles

Top marks for the work Finch did for us. He was on time, worked his socks off in horrible weather, took all the rubbish away and made our border looked loved once more. And as for that gnarly stuff behind the shed. Thanks for tackling that!

Elaine Ripley

Finch's expertise in tackling overgrowth and meticulous attention to detail left our garden looking immaculate. Finch's hard work, punctuality and professionalism exceeded my expectations. One happy customer.

What it costs

Clearances are priced per job, not per hour, because an hourly rate tells you nothing useful when nobody knows how long it will take.

We come and look at it, work out how many of us are needed and how many loads it will take away, and give you a fixed price in writing before anything starts. If we find something underneath the brambles that changes the job, we tell you before we carry on rather than after.

If you would rather not wait for a visit, send a few photographs on WhatsApp and we will give you a rough idea straight away.

Questions about clearances

Yes. Everything we cut or lift goes with us. We are a registered waste carrier, which means the green waste and the rubbish are disposed of legally and you are not left with a pile of bags by the gate or a liability if it is fly-tipped. Anyone quoting you for a clearance who is not a registered waste carrier is worth asking about it.

It generally isn’t. We have cleared gardens where the grass was past waist height and the borders had not been touched in years. The worse it looks to you, the more ordinary it usually is to us. It is worth getting us to look at it rather than deciding on your behalf that it is too far gone.

Most take one or two days with more than one of us on site. A very overgrown garden, or one where a shed or decking has to come out as well, can run to three. We will tell you which when we quote, so you can plan around it.

Yes, and it is usually much cheaper than letting it go again. Plenty of the clearances we do turn into a regular visit every few weeks to keep it that way. There is no contract and no minimum term — you can stop whenever you like.
